"I think people need to stop putting the letter "T" in front of the word "werk". - Lady Gaga
Every year, I don’t make a New Year’s Resolution every year because I really believed in the theory that no one keeps New Year’s Resolutions. I always tell myself that I am going to do change my lifestyle blah blah blah, but I never do. 2013 was not the best year for me and I am determined to make 2014 so much better. With that being said, I WILL be making New Year’s Resolutions and I WILL be sticking to them. At any moment, if I see myself slipping away from my life goals.. I will read this blog to remind myself of my deepest wants in life.
RESOLUTION #1: LOSE WEIGHT
Yes, I am aware that this is the “typical” resolution, but this is something that I am 190% ready to do. We have started our Sephora Fit Club starting tomorrow. I am ready to start living a healthier lifestyle. I want to feel good about myself. I am going to be changing my eating habits in several ways, as well as doing yoga. I want to do something that keeps me more grounded not just physically but also mentally. I of course have big goals that is going to take some time. I would love to be thinner than I am now for my Gaga concert in July. I have 6 months to really buckle down and improve. I can do it or at least, I hope so.
RESOLUTION #2: GO VEGETARIAN
I was a vegetarian for 3 years in my early 20s. It was something that was very important to me. I have been wanting to go back to that lifestyle for some time now. This time, I have done a lot of research on how to do it healthily. I want to make sure that I am getting my daily nutrients as well as products that may seem vegetarian, but are really made of animal product. I watched the movie Black Fish and was completely heartbroken on how the killer whales were treated at Sea World. I will not support anyone who thinks it’s OK the hurt animals for entertainment, fashion, etc.
RESOLUTION #3: MOVE OUT OF MY PARENTS HOUSE
My parents are two people that are beyond important to me and because I love my parents so much, I want to stop being a financial burden on them. I feel like I am finally at the age where I am a complete adult. I want to start my own life on my own. I have a few financial things that I want to take care of, but I really hope by the end of 2014 to be on my own.
RESOLUTION #4: PHOTO A DAY
RESOLUTION #5: BECOME MORE FINANCIALLY STABLE
I made a lot of stupid mistakes as a young adult. I am now trying to fix all of those mistakes as well as learn to live on my own. It’s very frustrating to be in the kind of debt that I am in. It will take years to take care of what I need to do, but I am hoping that in 2014 that I will at least make a dent and have everything figured out. I am so bad with money. Definitely not my forte.
So, I leave 2013 with five hopes for the new year. It’s up to me to make it happen.
